Continuation of the foundational work - Dendrocygnidae to Anatidae. With its large river systems and Lake Constance, Baden-Württemberg is considered one of the most important resting and wintering areas for waterfowl in Central Europe. The ornithologists of the state are among the most meticulous data collectors and experts on the native birdlife. Accordingly, a great deal is known about the Anseriformes, including whistling ducks, dabbling ducks, swans, geese, and ducks in Baden-Württemberg. This work provides detailed knowledge on seasonal occurrence, distribution, breeding areas, and population development, as well as on resting and winter populations and the ecology and conservation status of nearly 100 species of waterfowl.
