Product details
With his constructions, East German engineer Ulrich Müther wrote an important chapter in the European history of shell construction. In 1963, he executed the first concrete shell in what was then the GDR as part of his diploma project. Over the more than 30 years of his work, many other milestones followed. Ulrich Müther realized his groundbreaking shell constructions in his homeland on the island of Rügen, in and around Rostock, as well as in other parts of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The book oscillates between a classic architectural guide and an almost archaeological inventory. It provides a well-founded insight into the euphorically progressive era of construction in the 1960s and 1970s. For the first time, all objects in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are gathered in a single publication. The buildings are presented based on current.
