Beyond the boundary of graphics and sculpture! In 2008, Ulrich Rückriem donated a large mural to the Ruhr University Bochum, after previously handing over his extensive work archive to the art collections there. The scholarly processing of this donation is now complete. The publication being released now aims to introduce the lesser-known Ulrich Rückriem, specifically the draftsman. Born in Düsseldorf in 1938 and currently living in Cologne and London, the sculptor and emeritus academy teacher, who has taught in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and Frankfurt/Main, is regarded as a prominent representative of a minimalist and conceptual approach to sculpture.
