The present study edition is based on the 2nd edition of the handbook "Forming Technology," which has been recognized as a standard work for years. It introduces fundamental process concepts as well as the treatment of problems in forming technology, along with the metallurgical, plasticity theory, and tribological foundations. A separate chapter is dedicated to flow curves and their recording, further deepened by a section on flow locus curves. Additional chapters cover the determination of process values through measurement, the fundamentals of machine tools for forming, and working accuracy. Particularly noteworthy is the easily understandable introduction to the material on one hand and the sufficient information for independently solving non-specialized problems on the other. The comprehensive bibliography at the end of each chapter facilitates the exploration of specialized areas.
