The theme of mission is of lasting significance for Christian churches and is rightly discussed anew in various contexts. The essays in this volume place the Christian testimony of faith within hermeneutical and missiological contexts. They explore topics such as conversion and transformation and shed light on the role of ecumenical partnership and solidarity. The texts convey a simple awe at the unexpected workings of the Spirit of God in foreign places and reflect on the testimony of Christians in encounters with people of other religions. The author advocates for the necessity of scholarly engagement with these topics and for the strengthening of the university discipline of Intercultural Theology.
