Product details
Berlin's Schloss Bellevue is a structure of immense architectural brilliance and has always been the residence of significant statesmen in German history. Completed in 1786, it initially served as the royal estate of Prince Ferdinand of Prussia and was used as a meeting place for the military during World War I. In World War II, the palace was once again transformed into a residence and government seat, housing Reich Minister Otto Meissner from 1939 onwards. In the years following 1945, it served as a venue for cultural and social events. Even today, politics are based in Bellevue: important meetings of the German Bundestag take place there, and the palace is the official residence of the German Federal President. The present book from 1915 primarily describes the uniqueness of the building's architecture, placing particular emphasis on its features.
