Product details

Richard Glazar (1920-1997) was one of only about 60 survivors of the Nazi extermination camp Treblinka, where approximately 900,000 people from all over Europe were murdered from July 1942 until the uprising on August 2, 1943. Glazar, who was employed in Treblinka as a so-called functional prisoner, was able to take advantage of the well-prepared uprising to escape and go into hiding. Immediately after the end of the war, he wrote down what he had experienced and observed. His accounts are precise, detailed, clear, and incredibly moving.
