The book deals with the self-proclaimed Identitarian Movement, which sees itself as a youth movement of the New Right in Europe, with its origins traceable back to around 2002. Since its inception in France, offshoot groups have been established in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, as well as Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, all of which are well-connected and are in the process of building cross-border structures. Based on texts, images, and video material reflecting the groups' positions, societal analyses, and conclusions, the book traces and analyzes activism and participation. It contextualizes the political logic of their theses, the means they employ (rhetorical, visual, activist, media), and the theories and existing literature upon which the Identitarians rely.
