A tree, a house, people within: a touching family saga about the loss of home and new beginnings. Over half a century has passed since Jadran's grandfather came to Istria and started a family there. Now he is dead, and Jadran's father has also left the family after the outbreak of the Bosnian War. With a visit to his grandfather's house, the young man's search for his own identity begins, inevitably leading him into the turmoil of the Balkans. The disintegration of the state and its new borders have also severed family ties. Only the fig tree in his grandfather's garden seems to have weathered all storms unscathed.
