Product details

The valuation of a company plays a significant role in an LMBO transaction, as its outcome provides the foundation for price formation and demonstrates the economic viability of an acquisition. The essential value driver of an LMBO transaction is the high level of debt, which is why a valuation method should be capable of reflecting the resulting capital structure effects. DCF methods have proven to be fundamentally suitable valuation concepts, both due to their scientific basis and their practical acceptance. However, the various DCF methods exhibit different degrees of suitability under different conditions due to their conceptual differences. The author addresses this issue. To this end, he outlines the process of an LMBO transaction and highlights its specific features. He thoroughly analyzes the different DCF methods and consolidates them into a combination model, which enables a consistent valuation of the transaction object.
