Social work is often provided by self-employed entrepreneurs: freelancers, subcontractors, independent contractors, lump-sum workers - the terms are numerous and so are the questions. The legislator has left many aspects of self-employment open within the legal framework. Those affected are subjected to a kind of learning process to determine whether they are considered commercial operators, the extent of VAT exemptions, whether there is a requirement for pension insurance, etc. This handbook offers concrete explanations of this legal framework.
