Varied training for learning the German language. Learning a new language presents a unique kind of challenge. The workbook "German as a Second Language - Workbook for Learning German A" is designed to help children tackle this challenge independently. It is particularly suitable for students with limited German skills who are already familiar with written German. The workbook has been developed in accordance with the DaZ curricula of various federal states and contains a wide range of practice materials on selected topics. Initially, the basic vocabulary of a chapter is introduced, which children practice in as many different ways as possible. This occurs through various learning paths: children listen to new words via QR codes, read words and sentences, and match them to corresponding images. They write new words and speak the new words (possibly with a partner). To enable children to practice as independently as possible, each chapter is structured in the same way, and the task formats are repeated. Vignettes combined with simply formulated instructions support this approach. Each chapter concludes with a "What I Can Do" page, which allows for the assessment of individual learning progress and encourages self-evaluation. The workbook "German as a Second Language - Workbook for Learning German A" serves as an alternative or supplement to a textbook in German classes, for homework, or for remedial instruction. A separate "Workbook for Learning to Write and Read" is available, which focuses on literacy. Additionally, the corresponding "Word-Image Cards for Learning German A" can be used for further support.
