In the effort to create a modern linguistic form of the Book of Books, Heinrich Ogilvie (1893-1988), who, like Emil Bock, was part of the founding circle of the Christian Community, worked for decades on his own translation of the New Testament, initially in Dutch, but also in German. After several years of editorial work on the text, which involved colleagues of Ogilvie, this new translation can now be presented. Ogilvie was particularly focused on seeking new expressions that would do justice to the anthroposophical background to which he, like Bock, was committed, that were appropriate for the liturgical life of the Christian Community, and that could stand up to the original text with the greatest possible philological accuracy. Thus, a translation has emerged.
