In a castle with a vast park, there once sat a king, tall and strong. Children find it wonderful when they are allowed to search for rhymes themselves. They are immediately drawn in. When Princess Lissy goes for a walk in the woods with the king and the dachshund, and eventually a clever hare and a good-natured bear create confusion, one can joyfully rhyme along, carried by the rhythm of the couplets. Elsa Beskow has once again proven how well she understands what children like and need.
