The study of this book provides psychological foundations for students of social pedagogy and other fields with social connections. After a description of psychology as a scientific system, key subfields that are fundamental for students are presented: theories of personality, development, education, as well as social interaction and communication. Two central applications of psychological knowledge – diagnostics and intervention – are explained in detail.
