Violence, aggression, and bullying in the daily school environment are clearly visible problems in the social behavior of students. These social issues also have an impact on academic performance, which is often overlooked. The aim of this volume is to bring together the two separately conducted debates on school violence research and the quality development of schools. Academic performance, social skills, and self-competence of students are interdependent and are influenced by the overall school culture. In this context, the authors assess the current state of research, report on their own studies, and draw conclusions for educational practice. In addition to practical tips, an overview of proven prevention programs is provided, which only achieve their full effectiveness in the context of the respective school development.
