A numerical method is presented that allows for the simulation of the flow around a complete helicopter. The calculation method is based on a finite volume approach, where the inviscid Euler equations are solved. Freely overlapping grids have been introduced to capture the complex bodies and the relative motion of the rotor to the fuselage. The method has been validated against several test cases.
