A successful therapeutic process can only develop when a trusting relationship is established between the therapist and the client, and when the therapists convey a benevolent attentiveness. These mutual feelings can certainly be referred to as "love," and the "courting" of one another can also be seen as "seduction." But what does a professional handling of these feelings look like? Certainly, psychotherapeutic professionalism excludes any real physical and especially sexual closeness between the two. Nevertheless, it should be openly acknowledged that the high intimacy, particularly in longer therapy processes, enables an intense and trusting engagement with the psychological difficulties on the part of the clients.
