Children and adolescents who have experienced a significant loss rarely require long-term psychotherapy. The majority of those affected possess the resources to cope with such severe disruptions in life. They are supported by family members, caregivers, and sometimes helpful professionals. From a systemic perspective, the focus is not primarily on the crisis and its catastrophic effects, but rather on coping actions and the competencies of the grieving community. Saying goodbye to a person who has been an essential part of one's environment means maintaining the bond with that person in a changed form, allowing it to mature internally, and continuing to develop within and alongside that relationship. In supporting grieving children, alongside stabilizing conversations, active remembrance is also encouraged.
