Product details

The child-oriented family therapy (KOF) was developed by Norwegian psychologist Martin Soltvedt and introduces the children's perspective into family therapeutic work. KOF is suitable for families with children up to ten years old, who often get overlooked in family discussions. This new cross-school approach combines elements of classic play therapy and systemic family therapy. Initially, the therapist plays alone with the child, records the play sequence on video, and discusses it with the parents to identify parallels to the family's everyday life. Afterwards, parents and child play together. This reveals family interaction patterns as well as the child's inner world. In the conversation, alternative courses of action are developed with the parents, which can be tried out in the next play situation.
