Lumina nova is a teaching resource for Latin 3, starting in grade 8 (or even 7). It takes into account the new competency-oriented curricula from the very beginning, as well as the changed learning environment in the G8 system. The issue of time constraints is addressed as proactively as the need to cater to today's students' requirements. All 28 lessons of Lumina nova follow the same principle across six pages: real-world relevance and factual information provide a motivating introduction. The centerpiece is the Latin text, presented alongside text-exploration tasks on a double page. Many methodologically varied and differentiated exercises follow on another double page. A transparent learning process is ensured through the summarizing final page, learning methods, mnemonic devices, review tables, etc.
