Product details

Luther's writings are available in modern editions that are suitable only for specialists. Additionally, there are readable modernized Luther texts in various volumes and anthologies. However, at the moment, there is no collection of important and interesting Luther texts in a single volume that provides an impression of the "whole Luther." From this perspective, this volume fills a long-standing gap. The book offers nearly all important Luther texts in excerpts. The text versions are based on Kurt Aland's "Luther German," but have been thoroughly checked, revised, and corrected against the original texts, as well as adapted to contemporary German language and spelling. The result is an authentic yet easily readable and well-understood Luther. The reader will encounter well-known texts such as the theses, the nobility and freedom writings, as well as dogmatic texts.
