The New Didactics developed by Arnim and Ruth Kaiser enhances learners' abilities to process information and has been empirically proven to increase learning success. It conveys universally applicable strategies and techniques, as well as transferable foundations for understanding information presented textually, visually, and numerically. The book provides information on the structure and application of the New Didactics. This approach is based on an internationally discussed and validated cognitive theoretical framework: metacognition. The research findings available on this topic have been incorporated, further developed in two independent projects, and condensed for the German-speaking area into an innovative teaching/learning approach: the New Didactics. It is founded on the human ability to consciously perceive and deliberately direct one's own thinking.
