Religion for boys is challenging. This belief is widespread. In training sessions, I often hear the question: How can I engage the boys? What can I do to make the boys more interested in religious education? During classroom visits, I repeatedly observe classes across all school types with engaged and interested girls, while the boys either seem bored or disruptive. This book has emerged from this practical experience. It outlines ways to make religious education more interesting for boys. To do this, it first provides a brief overview of the pedagogical discussion surrounding different approaches to the phenomenon of boys and school. In a second brief overview, it presents the current theological discussions regarding masculinity. Both sections lead to didactic considerations.
