Conventional descriptions of bullying are characterized by a perpetrator-victim categorization. On one side are the perpetrators, who seemingly bully others out of envy, resentment, and malice, and on the other side are the victims, who are at the mercy of the perpetrator. Andre Kleuter breaks with this perspective and follows the assumption that those affected by bullying are not helplessly at the mercy of the situation, but can contribute to both the resolution and the chronicity of the issue. He presents a methodological approach for counseling individuals suffering from workplace bullying based on a systemic consulting approach. Using a process model, he clearly and practically explains the individual steps in the counseling process. He demonstrates how it is possible to trace the factors and dynamics that led to the bullying and to utilize them for a resolution process.
