The relationship between traumatization and psychotic disorders is of particular importance for psychosis psychotherapy. This volume addresses relevant questions such as the influence of Theodor Meynert's concepts on Sigmund Freud's thinking, the medical historical question of the application of the diagnosis "schizophrenia" in Holocaust survivors, the special significance of the context for those who are severely traumatized, family dynamic aspects in the development of psychoses, and considerations of psychotic functioning as a defense mechanism in traumatized adolescents. A detailed case study is ultimately discussed by two commentators.
