More and more organizations are documenting, managing, and optimizing their business processes with software-based solutions. However, the offerings and requirements for such solutions in business process management are changing with the increasing digitization and virtualization of our private and professional lives; information and data should be available anytime and anywhere. Cloud solutions and mobile services seem to perfectly meet these demands. This study examines cloud solutions and mobile services as alternatives to traditional software solutions within the framework of business process management. Through interviews, initial experiences from three groups of experts - user companies, consultants, and software providers - were gathered to create a current and well-founded overview of the opportunities and risks, drivers, and potentials.
