Violet is coming to television. Valerie "Violet" Mauser is shocked: her colleague and soulmate Manfred Stolwerk is enthusiastically watching "The Farmerette," a live dating show where five farmers compete for a woman and a prize of 1 million euros. When two of the contestants meet a tragic end under mysterious circumstances, Valerie is reluctantly drawn into the alpine television spectacle. Behind the glitz and glamour of the live broadcast, she discovers a world that is as superficial as it is morbid. Not even two deaths can deter the producers from their crude show concept: The show must go on! Between farms and film sets in the alpine regions around Innsbruck, Tyrol's coolest investigator and her partner scrutinize the show's environment and put the contestants and the "Farmerette" to the test.
