Product details

In legal sociology and social science legal research, Pierre Bourdieu's legal thought has so far been received only sporadically and relatively one-sidedly, almost exclusively considering his legal conception understood in terms of his theory of social fields, but not in relation to other sociological legal theories. Additionally, the reception of Bourdieu within social science legal research is characterized by a relatively superficial theoretical reference; in particular, lines of criticism that have been discussed within sociological theory regarding Bourdieu's work remain completely unconsidered. This edited volume aims to deepen the theoretical reference in the reception of Bourdieu and to take into account lines of criticism within sociological theory as well. It therefore initiates a systematic engagement with Bourdieu's legal thought.
