Product details

This book is, on the surface, the written record of a series of interviews that Markus Heidingsfelder conducted with the systems theorist Peter Fuchs. In reality, it is the protocol of a covert duel, which, on one hand, concerns the explosiveness of a controversial theory that seeks to not only undermine the evidence of outdated worldviews amidst the jungle of modernity but also offers, in its abstractions, other often counterintuitive yet always brilliant possibilities for observing the (social) world. On the other hand, Heidingsfelder attempts to discern something about the person behind one of the proponents of the theory (namely: Peter Fuchs), who continuously evades this demand with the help of sophisticated maneuvers, a kind of cat-and-mouse game, one might say, in which it is never clear who is the cat and who is the mouse.
