Anna Heer (March 2, 1863, in Olten; December 9, 1918, in Zurich) was a Swiss physician, founder of the Swiss Nursing School with Women's Hospital in Zurich, co-founder of the Swiss Nurses Association, and its first president. Anna Heer studied medicine at the University of Zurich and completed her studies with a doctorate in 1892. Her area of expertise as a specialist was women's health, and she was deeply committed to the development and professionalization of nursing in Switzerland. In 1901, she co-founded the Swiss Nursing School with Women's Hospital in Zurich with her colleague Marie Heim-Vögtlin. Together with the physician Walter Sahli, who established the Lindenhof School for Red Cross nurses of the Swiss Red Cross in Bern in 1899, Anna Heer founded the Swiss Nurses Association in 1910.
