Product details
In "Fame and Ruin," Imran Ayata tells the story of how football is life - for players, referees, failed prodigies, active volunteers in the club, and an entire neighborhood. At the center of the novel is a Turkish neighborhood club that was once quite successful. It embodies the hope (or even utopia) of migrants for a better life in a quintessentially German domain: club culture. However, between political claims, professional football, and individual ambitions, many hopes and dreams are shattered. Eleven people whose lives revolve around the neighborhood club share their stories, and the truth is almost never found on the pitch. The novel is based on the play "League of the Damned," which Imran Ayata brought to the stage with director Neco Çelik in the spring of 2013.
