He manages this quite well until this year's multi-day company outing, where his boss pulls out all the stops that he believes belong on the Rhine: a steamboat ride, bowling in Bad Neuenahr, and a final visit to the casino. But it's not just Winkler who must confront the truth here. "Winkler, Advertiser" traces the inner state of those responsible for the economic catastrophe, who are now being consumed by it themselves. In Winkler's inner monologues, Enno Stahl searches for the emotional abysses of its perpetrators, creating a psychological profile of the crisis. Yet, despite all the drama, the novel is also characterized by biting humor.
