In 1996, he received the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award for his novel "Independence Day," and in 2019, he was awarded the Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction. His most recent works published by Hanser Berlin include the portrait of his parents "Between Them" (2017), the short story collection "Irish Passengers" (2020), and his novel "Valentine's Day" (2023).
