Among the papers of my predecessor in office, there was a package of letters written by my ancestor Jung-Stilling. Only a very few of these letters have been published before. We have recorded most of the letters in their entirety. The inclusion of some responses from Lavater and Hess will be of interest to the reader and will enhance the value of this collection. This book about the letters of Jung-Stilling to his friends is an unaltered, high-quality reprint of the original edition from 1905. The Verlag der Wissenschaften publishes historical literature by well-known and lesser-known scientific authors. This makes works that have long been out of print accessible again to the interested reader.
