The Hamburg economic publicist Raphael Ernst May (1858 - 1933) wrote this economically interesting work in 1902. In it, May presents theses on the emergence of economic crises, analyzing the connections between overproduction, unemployment, and entrepreneurial profit. He examines the relationship between selling price and sales from an economic perspective and seeks solutions for crisis management. This was written during the time of the first German economic miracle, in the midst of the industrialization phase that reached its peak in the early 20th century.
