The following pages contain records of our early various friend regarding a journey to Siam undertaken in 1888. At that time, he was assigned to the envoy Baron Rüdiger von Biegeleben, who was appointed for the three East Asian courts, specifically for Siam; thus, his official mission in Bangkok came to an end. These sketches, hastily thrown together under the impression of the moment, were intended only for his beloved mother, who has now decided to dedicate them as a memento to a circle of friends. The following volume by James Camille Samson (1856-1896) recounts his journey to Siam - the country in Southeast Asia that largely corresponds to present-day Thailand - which he undertook in 1888.
