In the summer of 1858, one of your students spent an extended period at my clinic in Zurich and shared many interesting insights about your clinic and your lectures. Among other things, I vividly remember how you were able to guide the students through a precise physiological-pathological analysis in severe brain diseases, providing them with the thread of Ariadne that led them from the labyrinth of dark conjectures to a secure diagnosis, which was later fully confirmed through autopsy.
