Anke Simon, born on March 31, 1963, in Frankenthal, is a German politician of the SPD (Social Democratic Party of Germany). After her birth in Frankenthal, Simon's family moved to Ludwigshafen when she was still a child. There, she completed her training as a bank clerk after finishing school and subsequently worked in that profession. In 1993, Simon became a member of the SPD, and the following year, she joined the local council of Ludwigshafen-Mundenheim. In 2004, she was elected to the Ludwigshafen city council and became the local council chairwoman of Mundenheim. In the 2011 state election in Rhineland-Palatinate, she won the direct mandate in the electoral district of Ludwigshafen am Rhein I.
