Pippo Pollina is one of the best-known Italian singer-songwriters in the German-speaking world. For three decades, he has been touring with his concert programs, and he now fills not only the small stages where it all began but also large venues—from the Arena in Verona to the Hallenstadion in his adopted home of Zurich. His book is a personal reflection on the events and encounters that have shaped him throughout his life, starting from when Pippo Pollina left his hometown of Palermo in the fall of 1985 at just twenty years old, as life in Sicily had become unbearable for him. At that time, he was involved in the still-young anti-mafia movement, but the murder of Giuseppe Fava prompted him to leave the island. Since then, he has chosen music, his lyrics, and words as his weapons. At its core, his songs deal with commitment, attitude, loyalty, and gratitude.
