The overarching goal of this dissertation is to make location decisions in production networks more valid. To achieve this, a methodology for effort- and cause-related cost assessment of alternative production sites is developed, which allows for the identification and aggregation of decision-relevant influencing factors, as well as the modeling and forecasting of operational costs, one-time costs, and residual costs of a decision alternative.
