The book examines the management of teaching materials and the academic performance of students in public secondary schools in the state of Akwa Ibom. Two research questions were posed and two research hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The study was designed as an ex-post-facto study. The study population consisted of 235 public secondary schools, 48,840 SSII students, and 6,755 teachers in 235 public secondary schools in the state of Akwa Ibom. The sample included 118 secondary schools, 977 SSII students, and 811 teachers, selected through a multi-stage sampling procedure. Two instruments were used for data collection: a checklist developed by the researcher and a questionnaire titled "Instructional Materials Availability Checklist (IMAC) and Instructional Materials Utilization Questionnaire (IMUQ)." The IMUQ was completed by both teachers and students. The reliability coefficient of the instrument was determined using Cronbach's alpha statistic and was found to be 0.82. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions, while the hypotheses were tested using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at the alpha level of 0.05.
