The question "Who is an architect?" which Hans Poelzig (1869-1936) posed to himself throughout his life and repeatedly answered in his speeches, prompted Italian architectural historian Marco Biraghi to provide an interdisciplinary assessment of Poelzig's work from a temporal and spatial distance. The author approaches the life and work of the architect and artist through the search for the identity of the planning subject.
