In June 1909, the first edition of the "Baukonstruktionslehre" by Frick and Knöll was published by Teubner in Leipzig and Berlin as a guide and as a resource for lecture instruction and revisions in the construction design courses of the Royal Prussian construction schools. Over the years, this guide evolved into a standard work in two volumes for architects and engineers. With the 27th edition of Volume 1 and the 26th edition of Volume 2, the current authors have taken over the further development. To this day, the "Frick-Knöll" remains by far the most widely used construction design textbook for students and is also a reference work highly regarded by many professionals. A construction design textbook is still expected to cover the most important areas of construction and the various construction principles in the field.
