Building physics is not only one of the classic disciplines of construction engineering. In recent decades, the importance of building physics has significantly increased due to rising demands for comfort and user satisfaction in buildings. The requirements for energy savings and climate protection have also led to a greater incorporation of building physics considerations into building planning. The book addresses the classic subfields and topics of building physics: thermal protection, moisture protection, sound insulation, and fire protection. The presentation focuses on the essential technical knowledge required for architects. Special attention is given to the new Energy Saving Ordinance with the verification procedure for non-residential buildings according to DIN V 18599.
