This textbook introduces high-level language programming. The C/C++ language was chosen because it has developed over the years into the most significant universal language with the broadest range of applications. This applies not only to system programming but also to technical and scientific applications. The content of the book corresponds to a two-semester introduction to programming. The course load is assumed to be a total of 4 semester hours of lectures and the same amount of exercises. It is also suitable as a companion book for a corresponding compact course or for self-study. In fact, it can be used by anyone who values a systematic approach. A detailed chapter is dedicated to object-oriented programming. Examples and exercises allow for the immediate practical application of what has been learned.
