The professional applications for key business management tasks are subject to various controls during development and throughout their use. However, a frequently underestimated risk exists in the area of creating and using complex task-specific applications that are developed directly at the workplace by users using end-user tools. Elizaveta Kozlova analyzes the opportunities and risks of user-developed applications using the banking sector as an example and develops a meta-design concept for user-developed application management in credit institutions.
