For decades, "Grimsehl" on Basic Physics (Volume 2: Electricity) and Prof. Dr. Haferkorn (Volume 3: Optics) as well as Prof. Dr. Lösche (Volume 4: Structure of Matter) have provided a comprehensive and accessible treatment of the entire field of physics. Thanks to numerous references to the interconnections between the various subfields of physics and particularly due to the modernization of the book's design, a fundamental content and stylistic revision has taken place. The essential substance of the work and its characteristic features, especially clarity and visual representation, have been preserved. This work offers valuable support in the foundational education of physicists, other natural scientists, teachers, and engineers, as well as for graduates in these fields.
