Since the early 1970s, the University of Karlsruhe has offered the opportunity to study "Industrial Engineering" with a focus on Computer Science. Students who choose this focus are provided with a broad foundational education in Computer Science, alongside introductory lectures in Mathematics and Economics. The core of this program is a four-semester course that imparts essential knowledge for understanding the structure, operation, and application of computers. To satisfy a more academic interest in knowledge, the practical benefits of such knowledge and the associated skills for the professional qualification of graduates are deliberately taken into account throughout the entire program. This practical interest is certainly one of its strengths.
