The programming language Prolog has gained increasing importance in recent years, not least due to numerous applications in the fields of expert systems and natural language processing. Unlike procedural programming languages, such as Pascal, where procedures must be programmed to solve a problem, programming in Prolog essentially consists of a description of the problem.
